Public Engagement, Education & Scientific Communication

The Institute is committed to making paleobiological and geological research accessible beyond academia through active public outreach, educational programs, and science communication initiatives.

Our outreach activities include exhibitions, public lectures, workshops, school collaborations, media contributions, and digital educational resources designed to engage diverse audiences.

A major future initiative is the development of the Museum of Evolution, currently in progress, which will be located in the historic Mekinje Monastery in Kamnik, Slovenia.

This museum will serve as an important scientific, educational, and cultural center, presenting the story of evolution, fossil heritage, and Earth’s biological history to anyone eager to learn.

By connecting scientific discoveries with broader society, we promote understanding of Earth’s history, biodiversity, climate change, and the importance of fossil heritage. Outreach efforts also foster curiosity, inspire future scientists, and strengthen the relationship between research institutions and the public.
